Earth and Sky Contest Winners Show Amazing Images of the World at Night

Check out this awesome slideshow showcasing the winning images of the Earth and Sky photo contest put on by the TWAN (The World at Night) organization.

Over 600 photos from 50 countries were submitted. Submissions were required to show the night sky set in the backdrop of the Earth’s horizon with a notable location or landmark. The winning images were those most effective in impressing the public on both how important and amazing the starry sky is and how it affects our lives, and also how bad the problem of light pollution has become.
